Tercera Feria de Arte Chiapas

Coleccionistas, galeristas, artistas y profesionales del arte de diferentes lugares, espacios y disciplinas, se dieron cita en torno a esta muestra en San Cristóbal de Las Casas, entre viernes 25 y el 31 de marzo de 2011, en el Centro de Convenciones del Centro Cultural El Carmen y otros espacios de la ciudad. En ellos se ofreció la oportunidad de encontrarse con la mejor creación artística y de diseño chiapaneco, nacional e internacional. Este encuentro anual creado por la comunidad de artistas buscó motivar el imaginario colectivo y la apreciación del arte, siendo además un foro para la exhibición y venta de obras artísticas en la región. El miércoles 30 de marzo las actrices de FOMMA presentaron su obra teatral, Buscando nuevos caminos, en la sala de Bellas Artes como parte de este encuentro interdisciplinario.

Collectors, gallerists, artists, and art professionals from different places, spaces, and disciplines came together during an expo in San Cristóbal de las Casas between March 25 and 31, 2011 that took place in the El Carmen Cultural Center’s Convention Center and other spaces throughout the city. The presentations conducted over the week allowed participants to witness the best of Chiapanecan, national, and international design and artistry. The annual meeting, created by a community of artists, sought to inspire the collective imaginary and a general appreciation of art, given that it also served as a forum for the exhibition and sale of regional art pieces. On March 30, the actresses of FOMMA presented their play, “Seeking New Paths,” in the theatre of Bellas Artes as part of this interdisciplinary meeting.

Acerca de Arte Acción

Arte Acción is an interdisciplinary platform located in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas that focuses on developing public performance programming and linking different social groups together in order to promote diverse forms of human development through diverse, continual activities geared towards increasing public awareness, personal reflection and the creation of artistic and political projects. It is a platform first developed with the Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics in collaboration with Fortaleza de la Mujer Maya (FOMMA), a theatre troupe of indigenous women. Arte Acción, encompasses public lectures, roundtables, performances, public actions and projections seeking to promote, present and archive performative practices as a social, cultural and political in it's collaboration and research with local, national, and international communities.
